First Place: Dino McCann
This was a fun competition because it allowed for some hands on creativity.
For the background, I cut out 1" strips of different colored construction paper, placed them at an angle and glued them onto a piece of backer board. For the bottom reflection I used a black towel and placed a piece of glass over it. I filled the three glasses with water at varying levels and then positioned them in a composition that appealed to me.
I kept the camera fairly low to the glass to maximize the reflection. I lit the background with some mini lights making sure the light from them did not bleed into the glasses and only lit the background. The water in the glasses created the refraction. In post processing I applied some sharpening, added some contrast, and saturated the colors a little bit more.Technical Info
